We recently advised PT Krakatau Bandar Samudera (KBS) on the vertical merger of PT Krakatau Jasa Samudera (KJS) into KBS. Both companies operate in the port services and logistics sectors and are indirectly controlled by PT Krakatau Steel (Persero) Tbk (KRAS). The merger forms part of KRAS’s broader initiative to streamline its subsidiary structure and strengthen the integration of its port and logistics businesses.
This restructuring aligns with the Indonesian Government’s state-owned enterprise transformation and consolidation programme, which aims to improve operational efficiency, strengthen corporate governance, and build more focused and competitive state-owned enterprises.
